Soon, a large crowd of villagers gathered at the spot to witness the scene. In the meantime, the family immediately alerted the forest department and a snake rescue team. A snake rescuer reached the spot and first ensured the crowd maintained a safe distance. He then carefully rescued both reptiles after a lengthy operation. The king cobra and the python were later released into the forest.The Gonauli forest area lies close to dense woodland, and snakes and other wild animals often stray into nearby residential areas. The forest department has urged people not to panic or attempt to catch snakes or other wildlife themselves.
