Kim fears the end of the Tates in Emmerdale as vengeful Joe spirals in shocking way

Joe’s consumed with grief (Picture: ITV) Spiralling in the aftermath of Dawn Taylor’s (Olivia Bromley) death, the only thing Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) can focus on right now in Emmerdale is revenge. Dawn lost her life when Jimmy King (Nick Miles) crashed his car into her and Joe’s wedding marquee. She gave birth to Joe’s son in hospital, and then died in her sleep hours later. Before the crash happened, Dawn came very close to leaving Joe for a new life away from Emmerdale with Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle). Dawn had spent weeks believing that Joe put Billy in hospital, unaware it was just a plot cooked up by Caleb and Ruby Miligan (William Ash and Beth Cordingly). We can’t put all of the blame on Caleb and Ruby and say that if their plan with Billy never happened, Dawn would still be alive, because we don’t know if Jimmy’s crash would’ve taken place in this alternate version of reality. If it did, maybe the marquee would’ve been full of wedding guests, and maybe the number of deaths would’ve been more than just two. With Jimmy gone, Joe is blaming Caleb and Ruby for his partner’s demise. And occasionally Billy, you know, just to mix things up. It’s Dawn’s funeral in upcoming episodes, but Joe gave Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) and Kim Tate (Claire King) strict instructions that Dawn’s friends, along with Billy, Clemmie, Lucas and Evan wouldn’t be allowed to attend. When Joe struggles to deliver the eulogy on the day, Kim steps in to provide a tribute. Joe struggles under the weight of his grief and quickly departs. As Kim and Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) bicker about the family’s future, we discover where Joe has gone.
