Kilo of cocaine found after man caught driving 'erratically'

Police have seized around 1 kilogram of cocaine after intercepting a vehicle driving "erratically" in northern Tasmania on Wednesday morning.Police say after stopping the driver, a 34-year-old Launceston man, they subsequently found the kilogram of cocaine "concealed" inside a bag.The man was taken into custody and charged with drug and firearm offences.Drug seizure linked to burglaryThe arrest prompted police investigators to search a home where they say they found a stolen firearm, a "quantity" of ammunition, along with "evidence relating to drug offences".They allege the firearm is linked to an aggravated burglary in Beaconsfield earlier this year.The 34-year-old will face the Launceston Magistrates Court later today.Anyone with information relating to illicit drug activity is encouraged to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via crimestopperstas.com.au.Information can be provided anonymously.
