Dead Rising Isn’t In Dead By Daylight, But It Was Almost In Killer Klowns From Outer Space Published Nov 7, 2026, 9:27 AM EST George is the Lead News Editor for TheGamer, and has been working in the industry since 2021 after graduating from the University of South Wales with a bachelor's degree in Journalism. He has also previously written for RPG Site, WhatCulture, and PlayStation Lifestyle. George is an expert on platformers, action games, and fighters, but tends to play as many releases as possible. This hands-on experience lets him dive into gaming communities and follow the latest trends. Some of the games George has extensively covered first-hand include Dead Rising, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, Assassin's Creed Shadows, and Ninja Gaiden 4. A reliable Killer Klowns from Outer Space dataminer and news source has revealed that the game planned to include crossovers with Dead Rising, Twisted Metal, and Spawn. As great as Dead by Daylight is, it’s fair to say that it’s caused a pretty big problem in the world of horror games, as nearly every property wants a slice of its sweet asymmetrical multiplayer pie. Sadly, even if they’re as good as The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, they can never really keep up and always end in the same barely functional, online only state. Killer Klowns from Outer Space might not be as recognisable as Texas, but it’s another great example of a really good online game that has sadly been on its deathbed for a while. It was already a shame since it’s a genuinely great multiplayer experience, but it’s even more depressing now that we know what developer IllFonic had planned. Adam Would Have Been Perfect Over on Twitter, reliable dataminer and Killer Klowns from Outer Space news source (yes, that’s a thing) KKFOGameLeaks shared what has to be the game’s biggest leak to date. According to the game files, IllFonic planned to crossover with three pretty notable and thematically fitting series - Dead Rising, Twisted Metal, and Spawn. Let’s give into my lifelong bias and start off with Dead Rising first, which would have added Adam from the first game and his brother Evan from Off the Record. That’s particularly interesting since the pair were never shown together in Dead Rising itself, and their moveset, consisting of hat lifts, chainsaw clashes, ice cream, and stilts, sounds perfect. Then there’s who I would argue most people are interested in - Sweet Tooth from Twisted Metal. The game files suggest he would have had moves to do with his car, fire breath, an ice cream cone, and his iconic machete. The account even shared some concept art for Sweet Tooth in Killer Klowns, which is surprisingly dated back to 2021, a year before the game was revealed. Twisted Metal fans really can’t have anything but the surprisingly good show, huh? Rounding out the crossover clown car is Violator from Spawn, who seems to have been mostly inspired by the animated series thanks to the maggot ice cream mentioned in his files. I don’t know Spawn nearly as well as the other two collabs planned, but it seems like fans are really gutted it didn’t end up happening. While crossovers are all the rage and not at all surprising for a big online game, it is interesting to see how dedicated IllFonic was to the bit by only having clown-themed characters. While Killer Klowns from Outer Space hasn’t been taken offline just yet, it’s incredibly low player count (eight concurrent on Steam as of the time of writing) means we’ll likely never see any of it come to light.
