The initiative aims to provide customers with greater certainty about their vehicle’s future value and simplify the process of upgrading to a new car.Announced on October 9, 2026, the programme covers models including the Sonet, Syros, New Seltos, Carens, Carens Clavis and Sorento, across applicable powertrain options. Customers can enrol through participating authorised Kia dealerships at the time of vehicle purchase, subject to the programme’s eligibility criteria and terms and conditions.Kia Assured Buyback Programme: Tenure and mileage optionsThe programme offers different tenure and mileage options to accommodate varying ownership requirements. For ICE models, customers can choose between three, four and five-year plans, while EV buyers can opt for three or four-year tenures.Mileage options include 10,000 km, 15,000 km and 20,000 km annually, with coverage extending up to 1,00,000 km over the selected ownership period. The applicable residual value will depend on the chosen plan and the programme’s terms and conditions. By determining an assured future value at the time of purchase, Kia aims to help customers plan their ownership costs and make more informed decisions about exchanging or upgrading their vehicles.Kia aims to strengthen ownership confidenceCommenting on the announcement, Atul Sood, Senior Vice President – Sales and Marketing, Kia India, said the expanded programme addresses customers’ growing need for greater certainty around resale value and upgrade convenience. He added that the initiative is intended to strengthen customer relationships by providing greater transparency around the vehicle’s future value from the time of purchase. The programme reflects the growing importance of resale value in car-buying decisions, alongside factors such as performance, technology, fuel efficiency and overall ownership costs. By extending the offering across multiple models and powertrains, Kia aims to make its ownership proposition more flexible for customers with different driving requirements.The programme will be independently administered by the relevant programme partner, with enrolment, eligibility, valuation and settlement governed by the applicable agreement.
