2 min readKerry Washington just graced our most recent Women’s Health cover, and between her powerhouse Pilates practice, thoughtful approach to fitness, and the seriously good activewear looks she served on set, I’m taking notes. As a WH style writer who firmly believes a great matching set can mean the difference between a great workout and a meh workout, I couldn’t help but zero in on her crimson-red Vuori set. (Which just so happens to be one of my all-time fave activewear brands.)Dana ScruggsThe actress sported many stellar looks during our shoot, but the matching set that landed on our cover totally stole the show. Enter: the Vuori AllTheForm Micro Bra and AllTheForm Micro Short. The bra has a sleek, streamlined silhouette that feels right at home in a Pilates studio (or on a magazine cover!), while the coordinating shorts have just the right amount of coverage for a mat or reformer class when you don’t want any extra fabric getting in the way of your flow.I’m personally a huge fan of the AllTheForm line for everything from Pilates to strength training to everyday lounging. The polyamide and elastane fabric is smooth and stretchy but also super supportive, so I feel locked in whenever I wear my pieces from the line.Of course, the real inspiration behind Kerry’s cover story goes far beyond what she’s wearing. She’s been practicing Pilates for two decades, and her relationship with movement has evolved into something much more meaningful than simply trying to change how her body looks. “It’s not somewhere I come to judge myself and try to look different,” she says of her practice. “It’s somewhere I come to know myself better and to be more at home in my body, and that’s really empowering.”That mindset has also helped Kerry approach other forms of fitness with more confidence. As she’s gotten older, she’s incorporated heavier lifting into her routine twice a week to support longevity and bone health, especially since osteoporosis runs in her family. She credits Pilates with helping her build the awareness and alignment to take on more challenging movement. “It helps me do everything else that I do for fitness without getting hurt,” she says. “I’m able to approach movement with so much more intelligence and physical awareness and proper alignment because of Pilates.”Dana ScruggsBetween Kerry’s two-decade Pilates commitment and that seriously good Vuori set, I’m taking this cover as my sign to book another class. And maybe add a little crimson red to my activewear rotation while I’m at it.Shop More of Our Favorite Vuori Workout ClothesMore Workout Clothes We Love Best Matching Workout Sets | Best Workout Clothes on Amazon| Best Workout Clothes For Women | Best Workout Tops | Best Workout Shorts | Best Workout Leggings | Old Navy Activewear Review |Beyond Yoga Leggings Review | Best Leggings On Amazon | Best Leggings With Pockets | Best Yoga Pants | Most Comfortable Sneakers | Best Brooks Shoes for Walking | Best Hoka Shoes for Walking | Crz Yoga vs. lululemonShannen Zitz is the Associate Style & Reviews Editor at Women's Health, where she covers all-things sneakers and activewear.
