Keralam government going soft on ED’s recommendation to register case against Pinarayi, alleges BJP State chief

BJP Keralam president Rajeev Chandrasekhar blames Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan and Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala for not taking a clear position on the recommendation of the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) to register a case against former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan over corruption allegations in the CMRL-Exalogic pay-off case. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Keralam president Rajeev Chandrasekhar has blamed Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan and Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala for not taking a clear position on the recommendation of the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) to register a case against former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan over corruption allegations in the CMRL-Exalogic pay-off case.It has been 10 days since the ED forwarded a letter to the Kerala Police recommending the registration of a case against Mr. Vijayan, but no action had yet been taken by the government, he told media persons in Kochi on Friday (September 18, 2026).Mr. Chandrasekhar claimed that the public suspected a ‘match-fixing’ between the Congress party and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) to hush up the case. The United Democratic Front, which came to power highlighting the corruption in the previous Left Democratic Front regime, had to answer why there was a delay in registering a case against Mr. Vijayan, he said.He alleged that the ED had established a prima facie case of corruption in the CMRL-Exalogic pay-off case as the accused had received money without offering any service to the firm.
