Keralam Cabinet decides to extend validity of 18 PSC rank lists of teachers

The PSC office in Thiruvananthapuram The Keralam Cabinet on Wednesday decided to extend by six months the validity of 18 Public Service Commission (PSC) rank lists for the appointment of teachers. The validity of the rank lists from primary level to the higher secondary level, which are set to expire in September, October and November 2026, are being extended. The decision is meant to resolve the delay in reporting teacher vacancies on time due to reasons such as census duty, BLO duties, delay in transfer procedures and staff fixation, said Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan.33 new postsThe meeting also decided to set up three new Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act) special courts in Palakkad, Manjeri and Thrissur judicial districts to speed up the trial of drug cases. A total of 33 new posts will be created in the three courts. The number of permanent posts in Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam NDPS courts will be increased from eight to eleven. Although the new courts and the appointment of staff will create an additional financial burden on the government, the decision would be implemented as part of Operation Toofan, an anti-drugs drive of the State government.
