The bicycle had only its rear wheel, with the front wheel completely removed, leaving him to maintain his balance while riding. He was seen wearing a helmet, cycling gear and gloves, while the bicycle carried bags and other belongings needed for his long journey. A sign attached to the cycle read “KERALA TO NEPAL”, making the destination of his unusual ride clear.Watch the video here: #WATCH | Tiruchirappalli: Kerala cyclist, Saneed, rides 11,000 km from Kerala to Nepal on a bicycle without a front wheel to spread the message - ‘Say No to Drugs’.He says, “I completed a ride from Kerala to Kashmir without a front wheel, and now I am going from Kerala to pic.twitter.com/95agDos8d3— ANI (@ANI) August 19, 2026Speaking about the challenge, Saneed told ANI that this was not his first long-distance ride without a front wheel. “I completed a ride from Kerala to Kashmir without a front wheel, and now I am going from Kerala to Everest Base Camp,” he said.Saneed, who has studied civil engineering and interior designing, also described himself as a professional bike stunt performer. He said he and other performers trained the Indian Army for parade stunts and that he had around 12 years of experience with such riding. He told ANI that he had already covered more than 7,000 km during his various journeys and usually manages around 50 to 60 km a day. On his longest single-day ride, he covered 150 km, although the distance depends heavily on road and weather conditions.Riding without the front wheel is considerably more difficult than cycling normally, he said, particularly when strong winds make it harder to maintain balance. But the unusual feat is ultimately secondary to the message Saneed wants to take across the country. He said his aim was to spread the message of saying no to drugs across Kerala, Tamil Nadu and other parts of India. For him, the journey is meant to show young people that they can pursue unusual interests and achieve something meaningful without turning to drugs.Saneed said people should find something they enjoy doing rather than risk ruining their lives through substance abuse. He added that if his journey managed to inspire even one person to change their mindset, he would consider that his “true world record.”As he continues towards Nepal, the cyclist's modified bicycle has effectively become part of the message itself, demonstrating the kind of determination and discipline he hopes others will associate with choosing a healthier path.- EndsPublished By: Yashna TalwarPublished On: Aug 19, 2026 16:01 IST
