Kelly Osbourne says she 'does not agree' with her mum Sharon's support of Tommy Robinson and adds: 'it's hard because I love her'

Kelly Osbourne said she does not agree with her mother Sharon's support of Tommy Robinson during an interview on the NTAs red carpet on Tuesday night. Kelly, 41, was asked by Attitude about Sharon's public support for Tommy's Unite The Kingdom rally and she said: 'What? I don’t agree. I don’t agree with my mum, no.'That’s one thing that I can say I don’t agree with her on. It’s hard because I love my mum, but I also have to understand that she’s entitled to her own opinions as well. 'It’s really hard when it comes to politics and things like that, but I… that’s not for me.'Sharon’s support came to light in May when Tommy, 43, was promoting his anti-immigration rally in London on social media. Sharon, 73, replied to the post with the words: 'See you at the march.' Sharon replied: 'See you at the march', (pictured in April) Centrepoint, a charity that offers support to young homeless people cut its ties with Sharon after seeing her post. They released a statement which read: 'This sort of event does not align with our values. Centrepoint has a proud history of supporting young people, whatever their background, ethnicity or religion.'If we want young people to thrive in this country, then we need to ensure our society continues to allow them to live without fear and able to access the opportunities they need to start education or work and leave homelessness behind.'While the charity expressed its gratitude to Sharon for supporting its Omaze campaign, it wrote: '[Sharon] is not an official ongoing ambassador of Centrepoint, and we have no plans to work together in the future.'As well as their anti-immigration sentiments, Unite The Kingdom has been associated with hostility towards minority groups, such as the LGBTQ+ community.Kelly showed her support for the community during the interview, saying: 'The LGBT community means everything to me. I wouldn't be me without them.'It was the trans community that taught me about bravery. I was always of the understanding that my mum was like of the same opinion as me.'Kelly admitted she felt 'sad' after realising that she and her mother may not align on trans issues but said she doesn't feel her mother knows enough on the matter. She said: 'I don’t know if my mum knows enough trans people to make a fair judgement or anything to do with that sort of thing. Whereas for me that is my world. And to be born in a body that doesn’t belong to you, I couldn’t imagine anything worse.' Kelly showed her support for the community during the interview, saying: 'The LGBT community means everything to me. I wouldn't be me without them' and said her mother was not educated enough on the matter Sharon previously made statements about creating age limits for decisions on gender-affirming care, proposing it could be a phase. Putting her views down to a lack of education, Kelly said when she speaks to Sharon on a one-to-one basis 'she gets it', adding that her mother’s comments are 'not in any way against [the trans community].' Sharon has been more outspoken in her political views in recent times. In February, the Tories invited her to stand as their candidate in Birmingham's upcoming local elections against a convicted terrorist.Sharon said she would move to Birmingham and run in the ballot for the inner-city Sparkhill ward to prevent Shahid Butt from gaining a local council seat.After watching a social media video featuring Mr Butt, Osbourne commented on her Instagram: 'This has nothing to do with racism.
