Keanu Reeves & Sandra Bullock's Reunion Movie Seemingly Dead

The first time the two actors shared the big screen was in the 1994 action thriller Speed, and then they reunited 12 years later for the romantic fantasy film The Lake House. There were reports in 2025 claiming that Bullock and Reeves would be starring in a romantic thriller from screenwriter Noah Oppenheim and producer Mark Gordon. At the premiere of Practical Magic 2, ET asked Bullock about a supposed third film, with host Kevin Frazier explaining that Reeves was in Las Vegas saying that he'll be back together with her in another project. However, Bullock dispelled any notion that there's anything concrete in the works. Bullock did add that there's always a hope that they'll find another movie to be in together, but as of right now, "there's nothing yet." Then she referenced both Speed and The Lake House by saying, "We'll always have a mailbox and a bus." "No movie with Keanu. No, there's not...No. I mean, I think there's always the hopes of finding something, but there's nothing yet. No, but we'll always have a mailbox and a bus." During the exchange with ET, it's unclear what reunion film is specifically being referenced, whether it's the romantic thriller that had been reported in 2025, or maybe even a sequel to Speed or The Lake House. There could be something in the works, but Bullock can't reveal any details just yet, even though Reeves apparently let something slip in Vegas. It's also possible that there really are no plans for a reunion. In their first film Speed, Reeves plays an LAPD officer trying to save a bus full of innocent passengers, including Bullock's Annie Porter, after a bomb is placed on board. After being released in theaters in June 1994, the Jan de Bont-directed action thriller went on to gross $350 million and earned a Certified Fresh score of 95% on Rotten Tomatoes. During awards season, Speed won Best Sound and Best Sound Effects Editing, and a nomination for Best Film Editing, at the Oscars. Three years later, 20th Century Fox released a sequel, but Speed 2: Cruise Control had the complete opposite reaction as the first film, with a shocking Rotten Tomatoes score of 4% and a box office haul of $164.5 million. Instead of Oscars, Speed 2 received multiple Razzie nominations, including for Worst Picture, Worst Actress and Worst Director, and won Worst Remake or Sequel. While Bullock starred in the movie (with de Bont back as director), Reeves did not return. The Lake House, meanwhile, centers on Reeves' Alex Wyler and Bullock's Kate Forster as they write letters to each other, despite being in two different timelines. The romance flick earned $114.8 million in 2006, but critics weren't very kind, giving it a 36% on Rotten Tomatoes. It's now been 20 years since they last appeared in a film together, but according to Sandra Bullock, there aren't currently plans for another one.
