KDE Plasma 6.9 To Debut New Weather Widget & On-Screen Keyboard

With KDE Plasma 6.8 released earlier this week, KDE developers have begun working on more feature activity toward Plasma 6.9. New this week is a overhauled weather widget. Plasma's weather widget is nicely redone with an improved layout and more information on the weather forecast obtained via Open-Meteo. Overall looks to be a solid design improvement over its older weather widget: Another big ticket item for Plasma 6.9 is landing a re-engineered on-screen keyboard. The new Plasma on-screen keyboard includes the option of having a full-size keyboard, a Japanese flick keyboard, and distinct layouts not tied to system locales: Plus there have been a number of bug fixes and other improvements for Plasma 6.9 as well as preparing for the Plasma 6.8.1 bug-fix point release. All the details on the exciting Plasma developments this week via This Week in Plasma.
