KDE Plasma 6.8 Lands Windows-Like Auto-Scrolling, Lower vRAM Usage For Breeze Theme

It's been an exciting start to the month of September for KDE Plasma developers with continuing to land last minute improvements for Plasma 6.8 ahead of its official release in mid-October. In addition to KDE Plasma 6.8 this week seeing dwell clicker support to address an accessibility feature gap on Wayland compared to KMouseTool found in the KDE Plasma X11 session, another exciting feature also landed... Windows-like Autoscroll! KDE Plasma 6.8 will support an Autoscroll feature where you can press the middle mouse button to enter a dedicated scrolling mode and using the pointer to scroll. KDE Plasma did support the feature when you pressed and held the middle mouse button, but now there's an option to toggle the mode by pressing the middle mouse button. Plasma 6.8 also added a new remote desktop mode "enable exclusive mode" that locks the remote computer's physical screens upon connection while showing a newly-created virtual screen to the user who is connecting. And another exciting one for the week... Union styles will now show in the KDE System Settings' Application Styles page. Plasma 6.8 will also feature higher quality screen recordings made by Spectacle and other KPipeWire-using apps. For those with limited vRAM capacities, Plasma 6.8's Breeze theme will now use less vRAM thanks to optimizing some of the SVG assets.
