KDE Plasma 6.8 Improvements For UI, Built-In Remote Desktop Server

It's been another busy summertime week of KDE developers working toward a great Plasma 6.8 desktop release in October. This Week in Plasma is out today with its newest issue to highlight all the interesting changes for the week. With Plasma 6.8 if attempting to print to a printer that's unavailable, there's now a notification to alert you to this fact rather than silently failing. Also with Plasma 6.8, Task Manager thumbnails provide nicer padding around labels near the tops, more clear UI reporting over restrictions such as on usernames/passwords when creating new user accounts, and more. Plasma 6.8 also fixes issues with the built-in remote desktop server that could present some clients with a black screen. There is also a change for the built-in remote desktop server to exhibit less latency and better performance with less than ideal network connections. Another notable change for the week is Plasma 6.8 now loading the clipboard pop-up on demand rather than at launch for reducing memory usage.
