Even with this week's KDE Akademy conference and releasing KDE Plasma 6.8 Beta 2, KDE developers still found time to land last minute changes for Plasma 6.8 plus ongoing early work toward Plasma 6.9. Plasma 6.8 saw some last minute UI adjustments, including the click feedback for the system tray icons being better than before. Plus smaller refinements in other areas for tweaking the UI to provide a better experience. Plasma 6.8 also fixes a possible crash if deleting a starred clipboard entry from the Meta + V pop-up. Plasma 6.8's Bluetooth setup wizard can also now find Bluetooth Low Energy devices while other software on the system is still holding open a discovery session for other devices, such as if using KDE Connect concurrently or other Bluetooth apps. For Plasma 6.9, KRunner-powered searches now better handle currency conversions with the currency symbol being allowed on either side of the number. More details on this week's changes for the KDE Plasma desktop can be found via This Week in Plasma.
