Kayshon Boutte: My feet are here today, not thinking about what's next

Published July 31, 2026 08:00 AM A report in June said that Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte is interested in being traded and Boutte got a chance to address his feelings about being in New England on Thursday. Boutte is part of a receiver room that got more crowded at the top with the arrivals of A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs this offseason. Those moves would seem to work against the chances of Boutte securing a long-term deal with the team and their presence could limit his opportunities to showcase himself for other teams, which helps explain why he might see greener grass elsewhere. On Thursday, Boutte acknowledged that he’d like to have his best year in a contract year but said his attention is firmly on what’s right in front of him. “I think my attitude — We all hear a lot of the stuff that’s going on,” Boutte said, via NBCSportsBoston.com. “I think my main focus was just that I’m here ’til I ain’t. My feet are here today. If I’m somewhere else next week, the week after, that’s kind of what it is. That’s part of the business. I’m taking every day, day by day, not thinking about what’s next.”When asked if he thinks he’s on the trade block, Boutte said it was a question better suited for head coach Mike Vrabel and that his own conversations with the coach are only about football. Vrabel praised Boutte’s approach earlier this week, but said Thursday that the team is always open to using depth at one spot to address other areas should the right opportunity present itself.
