Speaking at a special VIP screening of her new concert film, Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour — Live from Paris, she said: “I’ve had people come to my shows before and partners supporting in their own way, but this is definitely a different level. Sign up for the Showbiz newsletter Thank you! “I sang Not Like the Movies when he was at the show, and it is his favourite song. I was just like, ‘I can’t believe I am singing this, and I wrote this so long ago, and I think I wrote this about us.’ “This is such a weird, full-circle, mystical, magical moment. Like time doesn’t really exist in that other place. “So it’s wild that it all came together. It was a break-up song, but now it’s totally a love song. My world has stopped spinning.” Katy and Justin sent social media into meltdown when he attended her Lifetimes tour show in Montreal, Canada, on July 30 last year. Two days prior, they were snapped enjoying a cosy walk through the city. And Katy appears to have confirmed that was the day they privately made their romance official. Most read in Showbiz It came just weeks after Katy and Pirates of the Caribbean actor Orlando publicly ended their nine-year relationship. Katy said: “There were days that were hard. Let me tell you, it was really hard. It was really hard before July 28, and then it got pretty. It got really cute. I was floating like a butterfly.” The Dark Horse singer added: “But before that, it was actually the lowest part. “It was my third winter. So when you route a tour, you have to take in all the things like the weather and the logistics. “For some reason, I toured in these continents where I did three winters. And everyone was out in LA enjoying the heat, and I was in Australia and it was cold. It was winter there. I had had enough. “I was sad and my friends were all together, and I had missed a couple of things back home. “I was missing home, and Australia is very, very far away. I had been gone for six weeks, and that is pretty much my max. It’s cliché, but I was in my darkest times, and then ‘boom,’ right after that.” Katy is right—it does sound cliché, but when Bizarre’s Jack met Katy backstage in Cardiff earlier this summer, she really was glowing. Over 91 shows throughout 2025, Katy played to over 1 million fans, including a host of famous faces such as actor Rob Lowe and singer SIA. The singer says she never gets nervous—even when playing for King Charles at Windsor Castle as part of his Coronation celebrations. But having Justin in the audience made her feel like she was about to faint. Katy said: “I don’t typically get nervous, and I have had a lot of people come see the show. “I actually love it when my friends come to see the show, as they don’t believe that I work. “I’m like, ‘How do you think I pay for everything?’ Katy with her ex, Orlando Bloom in 2025 Credit: Getty Katy’s exes also include shamed comedian Russell Brand Credit: Getty “I also don’t go around being like, ‘I’m Katy Perry. I do this.’ I don’t go around doing all that. “But in Montreal… when the documentary comes, I was like, ‘Agh, I can’t look at him, I am going to pass out.’ I couldn’t make it out to LA for the screening, but Katy’s team sent us the film under lock and key, and I can confirm you’re in for a treat. In one scene, the “Roar” singer reveals how she packs her daughter Daisy a box of toys to play with while she’s on stage. Katy said of life on the road: “It was really important and wonderful for Daisy to see her mum in her power. “I think at the beginning of this tour, there were a lot of people betting against me—in the very beginning. “Like how I dance. Like, this is how I fucking dance. What’s up? I’m having fun. “I’m living my whole life. You want to call me the Queen of Cringe? I am going to suck the fucking juice out of every single one of these fruits in this life. I am going to never have any regrets. I am going to leave no stone unturned. I am going to live my life to the fullest. I am not scared. This is that one opportunity in this skin as this character. I don’t want to have any regrets, and it was wonderful for Daisy to see.” 2 comments2
