The former glamour model, 48, insisted the news doesn’t relate to her terminally ill mother Amy, 74, who was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in 2017. Despite reassuring fans, the statement comes just weeks after TV star Katie said her mum has ‘just days left’. Katie took to social media on Wednesday night to share a statement reading: ‘Had devastating news tonight. ‘Love, health and family is so important. Cherish every moment with loved ones and build memories. And no it’s not my mum.’ She didn’t elaborate on what had happened, but just hours earlier shared photos from her appearance at London Fashion Week. Earlier this year Katie made a heartbreaking plea for her mum to ‘find the strength to stay with me longer on this earth’. Writing on Instagram, she said: ‘You’re my EVERYTHING. And you know I’ve turned everything around and you’re so proud of me. ‘You’re my eyes, my voice, my strength, my absolute Everything.’ Kate continued: ‘You’re a warrior and I’m your baby girl always and you love me through everything and held my hand. I can’t lose you, not now not EVER.’ Speaking on her podcast with sister Sophie, Katie also said that Amy was in hospital at the moment and was ‘very poorly’. Katie recently said her mum had ‘just days’ left (Picture: Instagram) Amy’s condition causes irreversible scarring of the lungs, making it increasingly difficult to breathe. She underwent a life-saving lung transplant in 2023 after falling into a coma and coming close to death. In July, Katie said she feared her mum might die while she was filming her recent autobiographical documentary for Sky.
