Jumbo Circus comes to Belagavi

Around 60 artists will present their skills. | IMAGE FOR REPRESENTATION | Photo Credit: BOWIE15 The ‘Jumbo Circus’, which began on Sunday (September 13) evening, will entertain the residents of Belagavi from now on at CPED Ground.The circus promises a mix of daring stunts, acrobatics, comedy and other shows for audiences of all ages. The shows will be presented daily at 1 p.m., 4 p.m., and 7 p.m.The performances include double-sari acrobatics, comic chair acrobatics, basketball acts, candle balancing, rope juggling and roller-skating.Around 60 artists from across the nation, including Manipur, and across the world, including Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Africa, will showcase their unique skills and thrilling performances.Jumbo Circus manager Titus Varghese said the circus has evolved significantly following the ban on animal acts, which were once a major attraction. The circus has since focused on bringing talented artists from different regions and countries to keep the art form popular.The Jumbo Circus began its journey on October 2, 1977, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti, at Danapur in Bihar under the leadership of M.V. Shankaran. Since then, it has staged thousands of shows across India and abroad.
