Juliana Stock Exiting as A+E’s Marketing and Digital Chief to Become Hearst Magazines President

Juliana Stock is leaving her post as president of marketing and digital at A+E Global Media, after more than a decade at the company, to become president of Hearst Magazines. Stock’s appointment at Hearst Magazines will be effective Jan. 1, 2027. Debi Chirichella, who has served as president of Hearst Magazines since 2020, will become chair of the group. Stock and Chirichella will report to both Steven R. Swartz, president and chief executive officer of Hearst, and Jordan Wertlieb, EVP and COO. Hearst Magazines has a portfolio of more than 30 brands in the U.S. — including Cosmopolitan, Elle, Esquire, Harper’s Bazaar and Good Housekeeping — 175 websites and more than 200 magazine editions worldwide. For Stock, it’s a return to the magazine world: Prior to A+E, she worked for 11 years at Condé Nast, most recently as senior director of business and product development. Hearst’s hiring of Stock comes after it recently tapped another TV veteran for a key position: Chris Berend, previously chief digital officer of the NBCUniversal News Group, who joined Hearst Magazines this summer as chief content and experience officer. “We welcome Juliana back to the magazine business after more than a decade of leadership positions across digital video, marketing and general management at our A+E Networks,” Swartz said in a statement. “With Debi’s help, she will build on our great brands and great people to lead the next phase of growth in this business in which we have enjoyed a leadership position for more than 100 years.” Stock said in a statement provided by the company, “Hearst Magazines sets the standard for lifestyle journalism, and I’m honored to join a group with such powerful brands and such a talented team. Audiences are engaging with our content in more ways than ever, including digitally, and there’s a real opportunity to deepen those connections while continuing to deliver the trusted, high-quality print experiences our readers love. I’m grateful to Steve, Jordan and Debi for their confidence and excited to get to work.” In 2025, Stock was promoted to president of marketing and digital at A+E Global Media. In the role, she led the company’s trade and global consumer marketing, digital strategy and audience engagement initiatives across a portfolio that includes A&E, History, Lifetime, FYI and LMN. Stock is credited with reshaping the company’s marketing approach by realigning operations around “audience-first strategies.” On the digital side, Stock oversaw the A+E Global Media ecosystem. She led initiatives including the relaunch of History.com, the scaling of direct-to-consumer products (History Vault, Lifetime Movie Club, A&E Crime Central) and the growth of audiences across social platforms and YouTube. Since joining A+E Global Media in 2013, Stock held senior positions including chief marketing and brand officer. Prior to A+E Global Media, Stock spent more than a decade at Condé Nast, where she helped launch the first websites and iOS magazine apps for Wired, GQ, Vanity Fair and others.
