Judge Judy loses defamation suit against tabloid

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Judy Sheindlin, best known as Judge Judy, lost her defamation lawsuit against media tabloid Accelerate360, which had published a story that stated Judge Judy believed Lyle and Erik Menendez, the brothers convicted for murdering their parents, had faced a rigged trial. In fact this was a statement made by a different woman named Judi Zamos in the docuseries about the Menendez brothers. The mistake was a result of negligence and not actual malice, so Judge Judy’s claim fails.
