Josh Radnor confesses ‘HIMYM’ cast is not close anymore: ‘Not even a little bit’

Josh Radnor revealed the “How I Met Your Mother” cast is “not even a little bit” close anymore. “I don’t mean that in any dramatic way,” the actor said on Sunday’s episode of the “Half the Picture” podcast, before divulging where he stands with each of his former co-stars. Radnor explained that in March, he had Neil Patrick Harris on his “HIMYM” rewatch podcast and they had “an interesting conversation about the some of the tension” they had on the set of the hit sitcom. Radnor, who played Ted Mosby on the Emmy Award-winning show, explained that fans have always had “a yearning” for the cast to have a tight bond in real life. “People really want to believe that, like, me and Neil and Jason are hitting bars in New York City together. People really want to believe that,” Radnor said. He added, “It’s a little more like family than friends in that you don’t get to choose your family. We were cast. We didn’t choose each other. Earlier this year, Radnor and Harris, 53, hashed out some of their on-set problems on the “How We Made Your Mother” podcast, with Harris admitting he felt his performance as ladies man Barney Stinson “annoyed” Radnor. “I remember often when we were filming, and I sensed frustration from you because you wanted the scene to be like a good scene and I was looking at you like, ‘Motherf—er, I’m doing spit takes,'” Harris told his former co-star.
