Mourinho told Yahoo Sports when asked about the black eye: “A ball to the face during training. “If I hadn’t been wearing the glasses, it probably wouldn’t have happened at all. It could have been worse.” The Chelsea legend was sporting the shiner during Madrid’s 3-0 pre-season victory over German outfit Schalke. Goals from Kylian Mbappe, Dean Huijsen and Carlos Espi sealed the win as former Premier League stars Bernardo Silva and Ibrahima Konate both made their debuts from the start. Yan Diomande and Marc Cucurella came on as substitutes to make their debuts in the second half for the new-look Madrid. Those who arrived now have had three or four training sessions.” Mourinho, who has arrived for his second spell in charge of Real, will be under pressure from the get-go to get the club back winning trophies after Barcelona stormed to the LaLiga title last season.
