Jones loses Georgia GOP governor’s runoff to Jackson in major blow to Trump
AI Summary
Healthcare executive Rick Jackson has defeated Lt. Gov. Burt Jones in the Georgia GOP governor’s runoff, marking a significant setback for President Trump, who strongly supported Jones. This outcome highlights a growing divide within the Republican party, as Jackson's victory suggests a potential shift away from Trump’s influence in state-level elections. Jackson will now face off against a Democratic opponent, further complicating Trump's efforts to maintain control over the party's direction in key states.
