Johnson, staunch Trump ally, seeks to delay Senate GOP leadership election after big losses

Sen. Ron Johnson, a close ally of Trump, is pushing to postpone the Senate GOP leadership election following significant Republican losses in recent midterms. He has secured the necessary signatures to call a conference meeting to discuss this delay. This move highlights the internal GOP tensions post-midterm elections, with some members questioning the party's direction and leadership. The potential delay could indicate a shift in priorities and a reevaluation of the party's strategies in the wake of electoral setbacks.
