John Turturro Can’t Stop Wearing These Affordable Italian Approach Shoes

Can one pair of sneakers truly do it all? If you’re John Turturro, the answer is unabashedly yes. Over the past few months, the beloved character actor has hopped on the approach shoe wave, proving that his rugged kicks from the Italian mountaineering company Scarpa have nearly as much range as he does.Since June, the 69-year-old Severance star has worn a pair of yellow-accented Mescalito Planets everywhere from the Knicks’ championship-clinching game in San Antonio to a World Cup match between France and Senegal to several stops of the press tour for his latest film The Only Living Pickpocket in New York (for which he’s already garnering plenty of Oscar buzz). At The Only Living Pickpocket’s TIFF premiere, he sported the techy shoes with a luxurious look from Zegna (the same label he famously walked the runway for last year): a tailored mock-neck jacket, silk-cashmere sweater, black jeans, and leather-trimmed sunglasses. The low-slung footwear has been steadily creeping beyond the climbing world and into the wardrobes of fashion-minded men across the globe.
