He studied creative writing and English with a concentration in screenwriting at Southern New Hampshire University and interned as a writer/journalist for The Borgen Project, an influential organization that fights global poverty. However, one of his proudest achievements is editing a Leonardo DiCaprio freakout compilation that has over 150K views on YouTube. Adam also fancies himself an amateur film critic on his personal website. Though John Krasinski may always be best known as Jim Halpert from The Office (2005–2013), he has built a career beyond pranks and paper sales by directing, co-writing, and co-starring in the horror film A Quiet Place (2018) alongside his wife, Emily Blunt, and returning to write and direct the sequel A Quiet Place Part II (2020). Krasinski has starred in several other movies, such as Leatherheads (2008), Away We Go (2009), and Something Borrowed (2011). Krasinski also starred in 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, which has instantly conquered a new streaming home. Directed by Michael Bay, the 2016 action thriller stars Krasinski as one of six members of the Annex Security Team who fought to defend the American diplomatic compound in Libya during waves of attacks by militants on September 11, 2012. Krasinski's 13 Hours Is Accumulating A Lot More Than That On Paramount+ Shortly after hitting the streaming service, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi is shooting up the Top 10 movies on Paramount+ in the United States for today, November 2. It currently ranks No. 7, below One Mile: Chapter One, Dracula, One Mile: Chapter Two, Hanging by a Wire, Rush Hour, Scary Movie, and above We're the Millers, Norbit, and The Get Out. The Movie Marked A Notable Shift For Krasinski 13 Hours is the role that kick-started Krasinski's career as an action hero. Before the film, he was known for starring in The Office, a sitcom, and appearing in comedy films like Leatherheads (2008), Away We Go (2009), It's Complicated (2009), and Something Borrowed (2011). However, that changed after 13 Hours, and though it didn't perform well critically (earning a 51% Rotten Tomatoes score) or commercially (becoming one of Michael Bay's lowest-grossing movies), just two years later, Krasinski was starring as the titular CIA analyst in Prime Video's action thriller Jack Ryan (2018–2023), with Bay among the executive producers on the series. Though the series ended in 2023, a movie titled Jack Ryan: Ghost War was released on the streaming service this past May. Now, with 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi finding a new audience on Paramount+, Krasinski's transformation from comedic actor to action hero remains relevant, and it remains to be seen where his versatility takes him next. Release Date January 14, 2016 Runtime 144 Minutes Director Michael Bay Writers Chuck Hogan, Mitchell Zuckoff
