Joey King, Maisie Williams Felt “Massive Responsibility” Joining ‘Practical Magic 2’

As the Owens women reunite for Practical Magic 2, the two newest members of the onscreen family hope to do fans proud. Joey King and Maisie Williams, who play Sally Owens’ (Sandra Bullock) daughters Kylie and Antonia in the Susanne Bier-helmed sequel, agreed that they felt the weight of taking over the roles from Evan Rachel Wood and Alexandra Artrip in the original 1998 movie, based on Alice Hoffman’s novel. “As fans of the original film myself, ourselves, I feel like when you love something as much as we already love Practical Magic, there’s just massive responsibility of joining the team and wanting to do it justice,” King told People. Ahead of the sequel’s Sept. 11 premiere, Wood recently admitted to Entertainment Tonight that she’s “sad” she won’t be reprising her role in the followup.
