JOEL Dommett ‘has turned down a huge lucrative job offer for Radio 2 following concerns over the ‘toxic environment’. According to the Daily Mail, a source said: “It would have been a great opportunity for Joel but he must have heard how miserable and on edge staff are. We don’t comment on speculation around individual staff contracts and the Drivetime presenter will be confirmed in due course.” The dad-of-two allegedly left Radio 2 shocked as to why he did not ‘jump at the chance to join’. Joel is a seasoned comedian and presenter featuring on The Voice, I’m A Celebrity and The Masked Singer. But with the proposed Job role offering a £200,000 salary it has left questions as to why he wasn’t tempted by the deal. He captioned the snaps: “Was so darn fun @imacelebrity.” The first picture was with I’m a Celeb hosts Ant and Dec on set in Australia, and Joel wrote across it: “It’s time to say goodbye to my time hosting the I’m A Celeb extra show.” Joel continued across the slide show alongside his various co-hosts: “It’s been 10 years since I went in there as a campmate…and I was super lucky to go back again…and again. And again.” He then shared snaps of his wife Hannah with son Wilde on the set, and another of her pregnant with their baby boy, Dutch. Joel said: “But this year I’m gonna stay at home with these dudes, and the extra one that kinda came with us too.” It seems spending time with his family has played a pivotal role in Joel’s career choices for this year.
