Joe Cole angers Premier League club after claiming he ‘put phone on do not disturb’ to avoid covering them on TNT Sports

JOE COLE has reportedly angered Hull by publicly claiming that he tried to dodge covering them on TNT Sports this weekend. Former England star Cole, 44, says he was asked by the broadcaster to travel up to the MKM Stadium for Hull’s Premier League opener against Manchester United in Saturday’s early kick-off slot. Cole said: “I want to make a confession here today, right. Sign up for the Football newsletter Thank you! “TNT Sports have contacted me for the new season. They’ve tried to slip in the Hull one on the first day of the season. I put my phone on do not disturb!” He also went in on the Tigers when asked who he thought could be in danger of relegation this term, adding: “Hull are gone, man. “They’ve spent 70 mil, I’ll be stunned if they stay up. They’ve come here through the back door, they’ve slipped in.” Hull, who went up via the play-offs after finishing sixth in the Championship, are said to be ‘well aware’ of the comments. According to the Daily Mail, players and staff intend to use them as motivation. It is claimed that TNT bosses were baffled by Cole’s remarks. They may spare him a trip to East Yorkshire for the rest of the campaign given the fury that he has sparked among Tigers fans on social media. One raging supporter responded to the clip with: “You should be ashamed of yourselves.” And another added: “Predicting us to go down is fine but the disrespect is disgusting.” Comment now
