Jodie makes her next wicked move as new Coronation Street spoilers reveal what happens next

Jodie’s got her eyes on David (Picture: ITV) We’re reaching the endgame of Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) insidious plot to utterly annihilate her sister Shona Platt’s (Julia Goulding) life in Coronation Street. Ever since her arrival in the aftermath of the Corriedale carnage, it’s been clear that Jodie is deeply disturbed, cruel beyond the telling of it and has a deep obsession with destroying her sister, though her initial attempts at seducing Shona’s husband, David Platt (Jack P Shepherd), didn’t work out quite as she’d hoped. So far, very few people have seen Jodie for what she really is, giving her carte blanche to terrorise the street, with her vindictive games and collection of trophies hidden in her trinket box going undetected, though her most potent venom has always been saved for her sister. Today’s episode saw Shona determined to return to work, despite David’s protestations that, having been diagnosed with post-partum fatigue, she needed to relax, but Jodie was all for it, having already slipped into domestic duties such as football-runs for Lily (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) and packing the kids school lunches. Jodie pushed David to accept Shona’s decision, seeing an opportunity to push her out even further. The only problem? She woke up with absolutely no recollection of who pushed her down the cellar steps at the Rovers, and with nobody to blame, Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) was quick to vent his emotion at Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) for leaving her alone in the pub. Over at Debbie Webster’s (Sue Devaney), she faced questioning from Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) over Eva’s attack, and Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) was quick to make some thinly-veiled digs at Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard), the last person to see Eva before her fall. When she later sees Carl’s wallet absolutely bursting with cash, Debbie turned to Ronnie and Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell), who firmly planted the idea that Carl had hurt Eva while attempting to rob the pub, sending her straight over to Kit’s flat, where she reported her son. Across the road, Sally and Tim Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor and Joe Duttine) continued to fret about Lucy Parkinson’s (Anya Dewin) behaviour, after her previous booze-fuelled antics. Tim turned to Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers), concerned that, just as Richie Parkinson (Nathan Sussex) had tried to pressure him into painting Rachel as an abusive monster to give him a defence for killing her, he may now be applying that pressure to Lucy. Later, finding her sleep walking while desperately screaming that everything was her fault, Tim and Sally were flummoxed. Carla Connor-Swain (Alison King) encouraged Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) to return to work, but still early in her recovery from her stroke, she fell asleep at her machine, leaving her tearful and embarrassed. Pulling a bottle of bubbles from her bag, she sets to work persuading David to help her cheer up; is she planning on making a move? Is this her latest attempt to steal David from her sister? Though he protests his innocence, with such a sticky track record, will anyone believe him? Will Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan), the real attacker step forward and clear Carl’s name? The Metcalfes tell Lucy that she’s grounded for the rest of the week after her recent behaviour, but when Tim later discovers his wallet is light to the tune of £40, has she struck out again? Elsewhere, Betsy continues to struggle at work, while Hope Dobbs (Isabella Flanagan) tells Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) that she’s worried about Sam.
