Jodie forms wicked plot to destroy Shona in Coronation Street as she hears voices

Shona Platt is having a hard time as it is (Picture: ITV) Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) has been having a tough time looking after daughter Harper alone in Coronation Street, but now that David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) is back things will get easier… Right? Not if Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) has anything to do with it. Jodie has been staying with sister Shona since the beginning of 2026, when they reconnected after years of estrangement. And since the day she moved in, the cobbles of Coronation Street have known no peace. In the background of stealing from her neighbours and spreading rumours, Jodie has spent months putting her revenge plan against Shona into action. So far, she has tried to seduce David and lied about it, and has been buddying up to Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) while undermining Shona’s parenting decisions. However, things are set to get even worse next week when Jodie takes a step further in her revenge mission. Jodie Ramsey’s got form for causing trouble (Picture: ITV) As all new mums are, Shona is bleary-eyed and exhausted as she cares for Harper, and Jodie adds further pressure by reminding her that she promised to make Lily a cake for her school bake sale. Instead of helping, Jodie claims she has a dentist appointment, leaving Shona to try and bake a cake amid her already stressful morning. When the smoke alarm goes off, Jodie watches gleefully from the garden as Shona realises she’s burnt the cake. Exhausted, Shona later falls asleep on the sofa, and Jodie takes the opportunity to sneak in. When David and Doug Ramsey (Steve Evets) get home, they are horrified to find the kitchen full of smoke. The next day, David and Jodie encourage Shona to take some time out and rest. But this leaves her feeling useless, so she decides to give Harper a bath. As Shona walks in with Harper, David rails at her, pointing out that she could have injured their daughter. Shona is understandably distraught as she apologises, but how will David respond? Meanwhile, Jodie gets chatting to Gemma Winter-Brown (Dolly-Rose Campbell), who opens up about her experience with postnatal depression, and Jodie, hit with sudden inspiration, secretly forms a plan… The following day, Jodie attempts to knock Shona’s confidence by making mean-spirited comments about her hair and outfits as she gets ready to leave for her romantic dinner with David. When they get home, Shona hears Harper crying, but when she tries to open the annexe door, she finds that it is locked. Shona is beside herself with worry when David finds her. David Platt grows concerned for Shona (Picture: ITV) To calm down, she decides to take Harper for a walk and ends up bumping into Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) in Victoria Gardens, who is left concerned when she smells wine on Shona’s breath. At the end of the week, Shona hears Harper crying again, but as she goes to get her, David walks in holding her, and she is happy and smiling. Understandably, Shona gets upset, believing that she is hearing things. Concerned, David takes her to the doctor. When they get home, Shona takes a nap, leaving David alone with Jodie. In another cruel move, she makes a snide comment to David about Shona’s current emotional state, stating that it must be difficult being a carer as well as a single parent.
