The move comes weeks after it was reported that Arsenal were weighing up a swoop for the former Brighton star. Mikel Arteta appreciates a versatile forward profile, but has struggled to make progress with first choice option Julian Alvarez. Instead the Gunners shifted their focus to Pedro, who netted 15 goals and produced four assists in 35 league appearances last season. The north London outfit were even said to be willing to go as high as £85million in their bid for the Brazil international. But now Arteta will have to return to other prospects or make do with what he already has in the form of Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres.
