The BBC yesterday announced the release date for the highly anticipated new season as October 1, alongside a full-length trailer giving us our biggest insight into the twists and turns we can expect and more airtime with our celebs in action Comedian Joanne, one of the upcoming cast members, however, has shared her grievance over being notably missing from any promotional material so far, including this latest trailer drop. In the new clip, we get at least a glimpse of plenty of the big stars included in the line-up, such as Michael Sheen, Bella Ramsey, Richard E. Grant and Miranda Hart, but according to Joanne she’s nowhere to be seen. Taking to Instagram, she wrote a caption over the trailer: ‘I’m starting to think I wasn’t actually in @ukthetraitors at all and it was all a fever dream!’ She then started her video saying: ‘Every single time there’s a trailer released for the Celebrity Traitors – which starts on October 1 – I’m like, oh it’s so exciting and I press play. It’s the biggest thing I’ve ever done in my career, it’s so exciting. The star took to Instagram to air her troubles (Picture: joannemcnally) She does make one or two brief appearances (Picture: BBC) ‘And every time I’m not in any of them. I’m like, okay, that’s cool. I’m sure it’s fine. Probably, maybe they’re like she makes such an impact on the show that we don’t want to oversaturate her at this stage. I’m sure it’s fine. ‘I did do it, didn’t I? Imagine if I tried to text Maya Jama now and she’s like, “Who is this?” I was like, oh my god, I made the whole thing up in my head.’ Declaring that she’s ‘moments away from AI-ing’ herself into the trailers, she joked that she put her face onto a bird ‘flying around the roundtable’ or as a ‘parrot sitting myself on Romesh Ranganathan’s shoulders’. ‘You know I want to be involved. It’s in my nature. I want to be involved,’ she concluded. The BBC declined to comment when Metro reached out. Joanne does appear very briefly in the trailer twice: the first time in the corner of the car with Rob Beckett and King Kenny, and the second, a close-up when she’s at the roundtable. We see fleeting glimpses of her industry co-stars as well, with Joe Lycett appearing for a fleeting smile in the church and once or twice in wider shots, while Miranda is also rather inconspicuous. At the National Television Awards, Metro asked season one winner Alan Carr who he believed would be the dark horse of the season, and he backed Miranda all the way, explaining that she reminded him of himself. ‘Do you know what, I’m super excited about Miranda Hart because Miranda reminds me a bit of me and if they make her a Traitor, that is gonna be TV gold,’ he declared. Otherwise, everything is being kept tightly sealed, so viewers will simply have to enjoy the ride when it starts to come out. They’ve already started expressing concern for their favourites, including Michael Sheen, who some fear could be murdered early.
