JLS star JB Gill selling £1.5m Kent farm after terrifying knifepoint robbery and row over ‘party barn’

JLS star JB Gill is quitting his £1.5million Kent farmhouse after planners threw out his bid to build a party room and gym extension. But council officials booted out his plans for a gym extension, ruling it was “inappropriate” development on green belt land. The former Strictly star and wife Chloe Tangney, a former back-up dancer, have now again put their rural retreat up for sale with a guide price of £1.5million. The modest four-bedroom pad features four reception rooms, a kitchen and breakfast room, media room, study and rear hall. It was also shown on ITV’S Through The Keyhole with Keith Lemon and the family regularly film TikTok’s at their home. JB bought his farmhouse for £1.2million in 2011. In 2018, he tried to sell it but failed to find a buyer and in 2020 he was sprayed in the face by thugs who broke into his home in a 3am raid. He was attacked as he confronted the raiders and Chloe was threatened with a knife before the gang of four fled with valuables. JB and JLS bandmates Aston Merrygold, Oritse Williams and Marvin Humes had chart-topping hits with Beat Again, Everybody in Love, The Club is Alive and She Makes Me Wanna. He competed on Strictly Come Dancing in 2024 and appeared The Celebrity Apprentice: Christmas Special last year.
