Jio Prime is back with a Rs 300 membership and a one-year price guarantee. Here's what Jio users get, who can join and how to sign up.Jio Prime returns with a one-year price guarantee.Jio is bringing back its Prime membership programme, but this time there is a slightly different reason to sign up. Days after Bharti Airtel discontinued certain prepaid plans, including the Rs 299 plan, to encourage users to opt for pricier plans, Jio announced that it would continue offering the Rs 299 plan to both new and existing users. However, there is a catch. To lock in the current price of their eligible Jio plans, users need to subscribe to the Prime membership programme, which comes with a one-year price guarantee. The membership costs Rs 300 and is open to both existing prepaid and postpaid users. The biggest benefit, according to Jio, is that members can continue recharging eligible Jio plans at today’s prices until September 5, 2027, even if the company revises its tariffs during this period. While we know that Jio will continue offering plans like the Rs 299 plan, Airtel has neither confirmed nor denied whether it plans to do the same. How Jio’s 1-year price guarantee worksThe idea behind the new membership is fairly simple. You pay Rs 300 once and, during the price-guarantee period, you can continue using eligible Jio plans at their current prices. So, if a plan costs Rs 299 today and Jio increases its price later, Prime members can continue recharging that eligible plan at the existing rate during the guarantee period. The benefit is therefore less about saving money immediately and more about protecting yourself from possible price increases later.Jio has said the guarantee applies to eligible plans, so it does not mean every plan on the network is permanently locked at its current price. What else do you get with Jio Prime Jio is also bundling some additional benefits with the membership. Members will get cashback vouchers worth Rs 600, split into a Rs 300 voucher for a new JioHome or JioPC connection and another Rs 300 voucher for adding a new Jio SIM for a friend or family member.Jio’s popular Rs 299 prepaid plan offers 1.5GB of data per day for 28 days, along with access to JioHotstar, 5,000GB of JioCloud storage and Google Gemini Pro. For users who already rely on the Rs 299 plan, the continuation means they can keep getting the same benefits without having to move to a more expensive recharge.Jio Prime can be purchased through the MyJio app, Jio.com, Jio Stores and authorised Jio partner stores.- EndsPublished On: Aug 18, 2026 12:06 IST
