Jimmy Kimmel Has Some Post-Blue Tsunami Advice For Donald Trump: “Just Quit”

Jimmy Kimmel has some post-tsunami advice for Donald Trump: Just quit already. “The verdict is in and there’s only one thing left for Nappy Gilmore to do,” Kimmel said on last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live in response to the so-called blue wave that swept the country on Tuesday’s midterm election day. “Resign.” “Quit already,” Kimmel said to the president. “Just quit. Nobody wants you. Even you don’t want to be president anymore. Take that billion dollars worth of crypto, buy an island – maybe Epstein’s Island! Wouldn’t that be a perfect end to this story?” And the late night host didn’t end there. Referring to Trump’s claim that Republicans would have won in a landslide if Trump himself had been on the ballot, Kimmel wasn’t buying it. Watch on Deadline “That is such crap…you were on the ballot,” Kimmel said. “You’re like dog hair. You’re on everything. You’ve infected every nook and cranny of our lives. You divided this country like no one ever divided it before. The only time you ever brought us together was yesterday, when we all teamed up to get rid of you.” The longtime Trump critic was no easier on the president’s cabinet, or, in the host’s words, “all those ass-kisser and cowards who stood behind him and nodded while he said and did all this crazy stuff that you knew was crazy because you were too scared to say anything…now you see he has no loyalty to anyone other than himself.” “He isn’t just gonna throw you under the bus,” Kimmel warned, “he’s gonna drive it. He’s gonna run you over and then put the bus in reverse and do it again. He’s going to go backwards and forward over your body until you are Silly Putty on the road because he cannot admit that anything is his fault.” Maybe Kimmel has a right to be extra-gloaty these days. Not only did Democrats take Congress Tuesday, but the White House found the time to snipe at the ABC talk host even in the aftermath of what Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis termed “the political equivalent of a meteor strike” and “close to an extinction-level event for Republicans in many parts of the country as we have seen probably in the last hundred years.” With all this going on with the election and being short-staffed without a Press Secretary,” Kimmel said, “the White House somehow found time today to issue a statement about me. They were asked for a comment about our monologue last night. This was their response, from White House spokesboy Davis Dingle: ‘Jimmy Kimmel is a no-talent loser who has beclowned himself with tanking ratings and by spewing disgusting lies to his dwindling audience. He is so devoid of actual talent that nobody with any commonsense would ever watch him unless it was to laugh at him.’” Kimmel couldn’t resist adding, about that “laugh at him” remark: “Which is kind of the point of the show, but apparently I’ve be-clowned myself once again.” “Once again, I’m a no-talent loser. Which the last thing I want to do is tell you how to do your job, Danny Dingle, but today seems like a bad day for you to call me a loser.” As for that “resign” advice Kimmel gave at the top of the monologue, the comic had some thoughts on Trump’s next-in-line JD Vance. “Maybe you’re thinking, ‘Well, if he quit, wouldn’t that make JD Vance president?,'” Kimmel said. “Well, yes, it would, but here’s the thing about JD Vance…a person who flipped from ‘Donald Trump is the American Hitler’ to ‘Donald Trump is the greatest president of my generation’ can flip back. It’s easy when you have no spine.” Check out the complete monologue above.
