Jets plan to stick with Cade Klubnik as their backup QB

The Jets did not claim a quarterback off of waivers on Monday and it doesn’t sound like they plan to make a move to acquire one via another avenue. Rookie Cade Klubnik made the cut to the 53-man roster as the only backup to Geno Smith and head coach Aaron Glenn said at a Monday press conference that the team plans to stick with the fourth-round pick as their No. 2 at the position. “He’s our backup quarterback and he’ll do a good job,” Glenn said. Klubnik was 21-of-34 for 190 yards and an interception in his preseason action. He was a three-year starter at Clemson, but landed in the fourth round after his production dropped in his final college season.
