JetBlue Passenger Kicked Off In St. Maarten For Verbally Abusing Flight Attendant—Friends Debate Leaving Her Behind

A JetBlue passenger was reportedly removed from a flight home from St. Maarten after telling a flight attendant to “shut the f- up.” The camera turns on only after she’s off the aircraft, and the question becomes: do her friends get off with her? Breshay Jay, seated nearby, posted a clip saying the woman had been kicked off, followed by the aftermath. In the second video, a woman in black who appears to be traveling with the removed passenger stands in the aisle and talks to people who are still seated. Someone says, “I’m not getting another flight.” Another voice says, “She’s off.” A station employee in an orange vest approaches as passengers are told to take their seats so that the plane can go. The woman standing in the aisle appears to be a companion deciding whether to leave. At least two people with the group remain seated. Jay says they were leaving St. Maarten, while the JetBlue seatback screen shows Fort Lauderdale as the destination. It looks like JetBlue flight 2760 on September 4, scheduled to leave at 1:42 p.m. and that took off at 2:55 p.m. Comments mostly treat friendship as taking second position to airfare. The most reacted to answer was, “Ngl ain getting off unless she paying for me another flight.” Others offered, “I’m too broke to be getting off a flight.” Some people said they wouldn’t leave a friend alone in another country. But several of those added that the friend would be paying for the replacement flight and that it would be their last trip together. An American Airlines passenger learned the same lesson last year after telling a flight attendant to “shut up” during the safety demonstration. The plane returned to the gate and she was taken off.
