Jessica Biel Reveals How Matchbox Stunts Earned Her Cool-Mom PointsJessica Biel isn’t a regular mom, she’s a cool mom. Especially as her new movie Matchbox the Movie led to her picking up a slew of new driving skills that she could show off to her and husband Justin Timberlake’s sons, Silas, 11, and Phineas, 6. “My kids are definitely excited about this movie,” Biel admitted to E! News during an exclusive joint interview with costars Sam Richardson, Arturo Castro and Teyonah Parris, “and think I'm cool because I can do some of those things now.” Still, the 44-year-old wasn’t quite ready to bust out the stunts at every turn. “I’ve gotta be honest, I'm not like ripping donuts at drop off,” she said with a laugh. “But if you asked, maybe I would.” “It’s pretty cool to have the skills,” Biel added, “and know in the back pocket maybe I could pull it out for a party trick sometime.”Overall, the making of Matchbox the Movie proved to be a stunt heavy endeavor for the entire cast, especially costar John Cena, who did his best to overcome his fear of heights for one of the more intense sections of the film. Luckily, he had his costars—not to mention wife Shay Shariatzadeh—by his side, with Parris recalling how she watched him and her fellow actors “push past fears.”Medios y Media/Getty Images“I just have this vivid memory of us standing on the bank by the bridge—by the chain bridge—when John had to run up the side. And we weren't on camera,” she remembered. “We were just there, hanging out, watching as a group of friends to cheer him on because we knew this was a big deal for him.” After Cena completed the crazy stunt—that included running up a bridge, jumping onto a helicopter and flying under the bridge—Parris and the crew were “freaking excited.” “It was just such a cool moment and just really fun,” she continued, “and again, all supportive of the amazing, incredible stunts and world that we were building.” Matchbox the Movie premieres globally on Apple TV Oct. 9.
