Jenny Slate Joins Dylan O’Brien In Hulu Comedy Pilot ‘Lex’

EXCLUSIVE: Jenny Slate (Dying for Sex) has been tapped as the female lead opposite Dylan O’Brien in the Hulu comedy pilot Lex. Written by Sean Clements, the comedy centers on Lex (O’Brien), a disgraced former reality star who accidentally films a murder in the background of a $20 Cameo video, and finds himself at the center of a global conspiracy — and on the run from powerful forces who want him dead. Using the skills he acquired navigating reality TV’s toxic social dynamics, Lex must fight to not get killed, to expose the truth, and most importantly… to get back on TV. Slate will play the only other series regular role in the pilot, Holly, the recently fired personal assistant of a murdered tech CEO, who gets sucked into a global conspiracy along with former reality star Lex (O’Brien). Using her organizational skills—and a knowledge of firearms she picked up somewhere along the way—she’ll help Lex try to clear his name. If it eliminates her as a suspect, too, great! Watch on Deadline Clements and O’Brien executive produce along with Paul Simms. 20th Television is the studio. Emmy-nominated for her role in FX’s Dying For Sex, which streams on Hulu, Slate can currently be seen starring alongside Chris Pine in the indie feature Carousel, which premiered at Sundance earlier this year. She’ll next lend her voice to DreamWorks Animation’s Forgotten Island. Slate, also known for her starring role in A24’s Obvious Child and for co-creating, co-writing and voicing Marcel The Shell With Shoes On, is repped by Linden Entertainment, Mosaic, CAA, and Yorn Levine Barnes.
