Jennifer Lawrence reveals the cosmetic surgery she’s had to be a ‘sexy mum’

The Oscar-winning actress, 36, has never been particularly interested in maintaining Hollywood’s illusion of effortless perfection, and her latest revelations about cosmetic surgery are no exception. In fact, her beauty ambitions have a rather specific destination in mind: the school gates. Speaking to The Cut, the mother-of-two explained that she wants to look like the sort of woman who has everything under control, regardless of the chaos that might have unfolded before breakfast. ‘I want to be a sexy mom,’ she declared. ‘At drop-off, I want to look like a woman that has her s*** together even when I’ve just woken up and don’t have my s*** together.’ The Oscar-winning actress has revealed she’s had breast augmentation surgery (Picture: Gilbert Flores/2026GG/Penske Media via Getty Images) Which, frankly, sounds like a considerably more achievable ambition than actually having your life together. The Hunger Games star, who shares two sons with husband Cooke Maroney, underwent breast augmentation surgery after welcoming her second child last year. She previously discussed the possibility of having the procedure in a 2025 interview with The New Yorker, explaining that her body hadn’t quite ‘bounced back’ after her second pregnancy. And it seems she has no intention of drawing the line at one cosmetic enhancement. The actress has also admitted that a facelift is very much on her future agenda, although she previously denied rumours that she’d already had one. She also admitted she’d love to undergo buccal fat removal, which involves removing fat from the cheeks to create a more sculpted appearance, but fears the change would be too obvious. ‘I can’t because everybody would know,’ she said. Lawrence’s dedication to beauty extends beyond the surgeon’s office, with the actress revealing that her skincare routine includes prescription tretinoin and, somewhat unexpectedly, nappy cream. The actress has been refreshingly candid about Hollywood’s beauty expectations (Picture: Swan Gallet/WWD via Getty Images) She has also taken to covering parts of her face with a scarf to protect her melasma from the sun. But while she’s happy to make changes to her appearance on her own terms, Lawrence has also made it clear that being comfortable with her body doesn’t mean other people are entitled to it. The actress revealed on the Call Her Daddy podcast that she once confronted film bosses after discovering unauthorised crew members were present while she filmed nude scenes. Lawrence explained that she ‘came down hard’ on those responsible, not simply for her own sake, but because a less established actress might not feel comfortable speaking out. She questioned what would happen to an unknown 18-year-old actress faced with the choice of allowing people she hadn’t consented to see her naked or risking being labelled ‘difficult’ for objecting. The actress, who did not identify the production, said she felt it was important to establish that such behaviour was unacceptable. It’s a distinction worth making in an industry where women’s bodies are so frequently scrutinised, altered and treated as public property.
