The Hunger Games alum finally launched a verified account on the social media platform, quipping in the description of her newly-minted @jlaw profile that "jenniferlawrence was taken." And while the she has yet to share a single grid post, Lawrence has already amassed over 386,000 followers. Indeed, the 36-year-old spent over a decade without a public social media account. As she told BBC 1 Radio back in 2014, "I'm not very good on [the] phone or technology." "I cannot really keep up with emails so the idea of Twitter is so unthinkable to me," she said at the time. "I don't really understand what it is. It's like this weird enigma that people talk about. It's fine. I respect that." But that's not to say the Oscar winner is completely unplugged from the internet. "I’m on it. But I’m a voyeur: I watch, I don’t speak," she shared in a 2019 interview with InStyle, per Time. "There is always so much backlash. So many people are listening and paying attention, and they have so many opinions about absolutely everything.""I really don’t want to welcome that unless it’s absolutely necessary," Lawrence continued. "I don’t want to put myself out there for no reason. Unless I’m promoting something or something really burns my onions, you won't hear from me." Well, from an official account. After all, the Joy actress—who shares two young kids with husband Cooke Maroney—does have what she describes as "a secret life on TikTok."Carlos Alvarez/Getty Images"I get in fights on TikTok," she admitted in an interview with Fandango last year. "I get in fights in the comment section. One girl was like, 'How old are you? Get a life!'" According to Lawrence, her incognito persona "started off" with online conversations about the Real Housewives franchise. “And then it got really intense when I started commenting on the royal family," she added. "I guess I rage-bait on TikTok." Keep reading for a closer look at Lawrence's evolution through the years.
