Skift Take The choice of a cities-and-operations operator to succeed a former White House press secretary on policy strategy signals that Airbnb could be reverting to a more of an aggressive regulatory ground game in the years ahead. Airbnb is replacing its top policy executive, the company announced Tuesday. David Spielfogel, most recently Lime's chief business officer, will become Airbnb's new Global Head of Public Policy, CEO Brian Chesky told employees in a company-wide email Tuesday morning. Spielfogel worked on short-term rental policy for then-Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel from 2010 to 2016. He succeeds Jay Carney, who has led both policy and communications at Airbnb since July 2022 and is leaving the company.
