It shouldn't be too big a surprise that Statham's name has become heavily tied to a number of successful movies on streaming. Statham's many action franchises mean he always has a whole host of films on streaming at any given time. From the high-octane prehistoric thrills of the Meg duology, to the conspiracy-laden approach of The Beekeeper, the action star has been at the center of many movies that have seen at-home success. One such successful franchise has been the Crank movies. The first movie stars Statham as Chev Chelios, a hitman who is poisoned by a drug that only gives him an hour to live. However, he can prolong his lifespan by maintaining high adrenaline, which he uses to track down those responsible and find an antidote. The 2006 thriller was followed by a 2009 sequel, Crank: High Voltage, which sees Statham's Chev forced to electrocute himself to maintain an artificial heart keeping him alive. The sequel found success on streaming not long ago, but has been dethroned by a cult classic. Statham's Crank Sequel Loses Starz #1 Spot To Lillard's Wicker Park According to new data from September 2, 2026, Statham's Crank: High Voltage lost its Number 1 spot on Starz to Wicker Park, a romantic thriller starring Lillard, Josh Hartnett, Rose Byrne, and Diane Kruger. The data shows Wicker Park is the Number 1 movie on Starz in the world, maintaining a spot on the Top 10 in nine different countries. This includes a Number 1 spot in Libya and Saudi Arabia, showcasing the movie's worldwide favor in the process. Wicker Park is a loose adaptation of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, pulled from the 1996 French film L'Appartement. The movie follows Hartnett's character, advertising executive Matt Simon, as he seeks out his ex-lover, Lisa (Kruger), after she disappeared from his life two years ago. Lillard stars as Luke, Matt's best friend, who plays a crucial role in how the story unfolds. The movie's popularity reflects its cult classic status, making it to Number 1 through its performance in just a few countries. Lillard Has His Fingerprints All Around Streaming It's not too surprising Lillard managed to overtake Statham with Wicker Park, despite the movie having a more niche audience than Crank: High Voltage. This is because Lillard has managed to earn a spot as a constant streaming presence, especially in the realm of TV shows. His recent roles include billionaire Lance Durand in Cross season 2, the mysterious Mr. Charles in Daredevil: Born Again, and lending his voice to numerous animated Scooby-Doo! movies currently available to stream. He's also set to appear in Mike Flanagan's TV remake of Carrie. Given how prominent a presence he has on streaming, it makes Lillard's Wicker Park performance on the Top 10 all the more understandable. The film overtaking Statham's action movie showcases how both are powerful names on streaming, with Lillard's influence mostly coming from the many works he's starred in across various genres and platforms.
