Sign in to your TheGamer account It's been well over three years since Respawn released Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, but since then we haven't even seen a glimpse of the third entry in the Jedi trilogy, despite rumors that the long-awaited sequel would be announced this year. Although there's always next year or even the upcoming Game Awards for Jedi to make an announcement, it seems like most of the news so far has been purely speculation, until now at least. Jedi 3 Is Nearly Ready For A Reveal In a recent analysis of EA's recent shutdown of BioWare, gaming insider Jason Schreier on BlueSky responded to several fans asking about the studio's upcoming release of the third Jedi game, to which Jason responded by saying that the game is already "far in development" compared to Battlefront 3, which he said, "hasn't even started yet." While it's not too surprising to hear that Jedi 3 is already well into development considering EA's previous statements and confirmations about the sequel to the hit sci-fi series, Jason also added in a separate comment that not only is it "still coming," but that Jedi 3 "should be officially announced soon." Although it's still somewhat vague on how 'soon' is soon, it could be teasing a first-ever look at a promotion for the game sometime in the next few months. The Star Wars Gaming IP Is Thriving Fuse Games Even if we might still have to wait until 2027 for an official announcement regarding the release of Jedi 3, we're thankfully no longer being starved for Star Wars games, it seems, with the surprising success of both Star Wars: Galactic Racer and Star Wars: Zero Company opening the door for more flexible releases in the future, on top of being great to play on their own in the meantime. Especially combined with the fact that EA has officially confirmed Battlefront 3 as the next major release starting development, the future is bright for the franchise, even if it only came about as a result of the tragedy that was Bioware's recent shutdown.
