Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay's farewell film, Jana Nayagan, has wrapped up its first week in theatres on a modest note, crossing the Rs 255-crore mark at the worldwide box office. While the political action drama witnessed the expected weekday slowdown, it continued its steady run across domestic and international markets.According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Jana Nayagan earned an estimated Rs 6.10 crore nett (gross minus taxes) in India on Day 7 (Wednesday). With this, the film's total India nett collection stands at Rs 149.50 crore, while its India gross has reached Rs 174.63 crore. Globally, the film has now grossed around Rs 255 crore by the end of its first week.The Tamil version continued to drive the collections, contributing Rs 4.60 crore on Day 7. The Hindi version added Rs 1 crore, while the Telugu version earned Rs 50 lakh.The film registered a drop from its Day 6 collection of Rs 8 crore nett, reflecting the usual weekday trend after a strong opening weekend.
