Now, James Gunn has offered an ambiguous response about the possibility of the HBO Max series returning for season 3. The second chapter concluded on October 9, 2025, with the eighth episode, "Full Nelson," which was written and directed by Gunn. Although the finale established major storylines for the future of the DCU, Gunn previously made it clear that another installment was not in the works.
