Actor Jack Lowden remained tight-lipped about rumors that he’s been cast as James Bond in the forthcoming franchise film. “It’s all very flattering,” the “Dunkirk” star told British GQ in an interview published Monday, with the outlet noting that the actor became visually unsettled when asked about the Denis Villeneuve-directed movie. “It’s nice to be mentioned — for any role — and I’m just not really going to add to the noise,” he continued. They have made their choice, but they have not announced it yet. So my fingers are crossed for Jack.” In response, Lowden told British GQ: “It’s very nice, and Gary’s a sweetheart. It’s particularly lovely, coming from someone like him. But I don’t really listen to it.” “It’s nice to be mentioned — for any role — and I’m just not really going to add to the noise,” Lowden (seen above at a screening in 2025) continued. Getty Images The Hollywood Reporter reported in October that Lowden and Callum Turner, also 36, were among the narrowed-down finalists to portray the next Bond. According to the outlet, the duo was set to undergo one last screen test at the end of the month before the final decision was made. Another source told Deadline that two others received test offers, including “The Crown” actor Josh O’Connor, 36. The fourth person’s identity wasn’t revealed. Last month, it was reported that Lowden (seen here with Saoirse Ronan at the British Independent Film Awards ceremony in 2024) was among the finalists to portray Bond. Additionally, an insider told Variety in April that the new Bond would appear younger than the actors who played the secret agent in the past. The new man in the suit will take over Daniel Craig’s coveted role, which he portrayed for five films from 2006’s “Casino Royale” to 2021’s “No Time to Die.” Sean Connery was the original Bond when the first Bond film, “Dr. No,” came out in 1962.
