Jamaica Beach residents urge Galveston City Council to delay Discovery Sands vote until after runoff election
The proposed development in Galveston would sit just outside of Jamaica Beach and span 170 acres with hundreds of housing units, a lagoon pool and a lazy river. Nearby residents have expressed concerns about its potential impacts on wetlands, wildlife and traffic.
